About the JBBC

History of the JBBC

The Constitution of the Jamaica Boxing Association was crafted by National Hero, The Right Excellent Norman Washington Manley in 1929. That formed the Jamaica Boxing Board of Control (JBBC) and set up the guidelines for the administration of the sport. Norman Manley was the first president of the Jamaica Boxing Board of Control (JBBC). The Board is elected by the Association every two years to administer boxing in Jamaica. The Constitution has been amended a few times, and the Rules and Regulations of the Association have been updated to reflect changes in the sport in recent times.
